You could accuse Alex Wiley of many things, but no one can say he's stingy with the Soundcloud output. Even in tumultuous times, the Windy City MC is keeping his fans on a steady diet of new cuts; today (Sept. 30), he liberates the somber, quietly urgent "For Summer." This comes after Wiley's creative home seemed to be up in the air: long associated with the Chicago-based label and artist collective Closed Sessions, Wiley lashed out at the organization on Twitter, claiming he was being held in a contract against his will and that they had undue control over his masters and say over his imminent releases. The organization retorted with a statement that aimed to clear up the discrepancies. Though this will probably go in the long column of rappers and label execs simply not seeing eye to eye, Wiley is at least making sure his forward momentum stays the same. A new project is expected some time in October--stay tuned to XXL for more details.
