If Toronto rapper Jazz Cartier isn't on your radar by now, he should be. The 23-year-old fire spitter dropped the new Soundcloud loosie "Just In Case" yesterday (July 31) to remind all his naysayers he's still here and still scratching his way to the top. Produced by Jacuzzi's go-to beat smith, Lantz, Canada's budding star drops his unflinchingly militant bars.

"It's goin' take an army to get La Fleur/With all of my words I can hit a nerve/I know they want me dead, I just wasn't sure/I pull off in a 'Rari and hit a curb/But the baby the sequel is get the work/My hobby is watchin' my riches burn/Jacuzzi can make all them kitties purr/So get out of my way and don't interfere," raps Cartier with ferocious fervor.

Last time fans heard a full length project from Jazz was Hotel Paranoia this past spring. Before "Just in Case," Jazz dropped an ode to one of his hp-hop heroes, Lil Wayne, which heightened his profile and got him noticed by the NOLA legend himself.

XXL included La Fleur in The New New: 10 Canadian Artists You Should Know earlier this year before 2016's SXSW Festival, calling him, among other things, the 6's answer to Travi$ Scott. It's becoming obvious now that with his lyrical growth and exceedingly dark delivery, Jacuzzi aims to push this lofty comparison out of the minds of listeners and create a sound for himself.
