Teairra Marí has been denied a restraining order against 50 Cent that she requested after the rapper posted a sexually explicit image of her on Instagram.

Video and explicit photographs of Marí were posted on her own Instagram account on May 9 in what the Love & Hip-Hop star has claimed was an act of revenge porn by her ex-boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad. That same day, the "In Da Club" rapper reposted one of the images, which showed Marí's face appearing to be covered in ejaculate, and added a caption joking about the situation, only to have Instagram remove the post for violating the platform's content standards.

Marí recounted the situation in an emotional press conference on May 17 alongside Hollywood power lawyer Lisa Bloom. "Last week I found out that my boyfriend was cheating on me, so I broke up with him. Right after that, he posted a sex tape and an obscene photo of me, clearly to humiliate me. Then his good friend 50 Cent posted the obscene photo of me on his Instagram and said, ‘Get the strap,'" Marí said.

The former Roc-A-Fella recording artist filed a civil lawsuit against 50 Cent and Abdul-Ahad, the status of which is unclear. She also requested a restraining order against both men, hoping to legally prevent either man from re-sharing the images in the future, but in the case of Fifty, the judge blocked the request.

"She was not convinced that the photo 50 Cent posted, with ejaculate on our client's face, showed her 'engaging' in a sexual act," Bloom told TMZ. "Common sense dictates that a photo of a woman with ejaculate on her face clearly depicts a sex act, and is the kind of humiliation the revenge porn law was designed to ban."

California added "revenge porn" laws to its books in 2013 that criminalize the act of distributing sexual imagery of a person without their consent. TMZ reports that Abdul-Ahad is scheduled to face a judge later this month.

The rapper born Curtis Jackson has taken the situation lightly, frequently joking about the lawsuit on social media. After reports emerged that legal action was coming, 50 posted on Instagram a photo of him with Bloom's mother, the attorney Gloria Allred, with the caption, "Oh Lisa stop, don’t make me tell your mom. LOL."
