Everyone was over-joyed when Dipset announced their reunion in Jan. and even more hyped when they kicked off their reunion tour on Feb. 24 at BB Kings in NYC. However, as hip-hop heads know all too well, it took awhile for Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Cam'ron to reach this point.

Flashback to 2008, when Juelz first announced his third studio album, Born to Lose, Built to Win, XXL hit the studio with the famed Harlem MC to get the inside scoop. Although Santana's third-studio album has yet to come to fruition, the rapper was really open about his surroundings during the sit-down. He not only touches on the happenings of the I Can't Feel My Face project at the time, but the God Will'n rapper also touched on the past tension with Dipset. He speaks on the beef between Cam'ron and Jim Jones, explaining why he took a backseat to it all.

"You can't get mad at me for not picking sides. My whole thing was making sure the bird was still flying out there and that people could listen to the Diplomats however they could," he says in the 2008 interview.

When pressed if there were any talks of a reunion back then, Santana responds, "Honestly, I can't even answer that question right now. Like I said, there has been tension but hopefully it will all turn over," he concludes.

Thankfully,  it did! Dipset is currently in the midst of a five stop reunion tour and gearing up for a mixtape release.

Press play.
