There are no hip-hop albums in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 this week, continuing a streak of relatively weak sales in the hip-hop world. These past few weeks have been filled with albums that have charted in the Top 50 for only a few weeks or less, only to drop out of the charts. Albums such as The Game's Blood Money: Year of the Wolf, Logic's Under Pressure and Stalley's Ohio are all examples of albums that reached Top 50 status for less than three weeks. Perhaps the upcoming releases of major albums from Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj and others will restore the balance at the top.

The charts have not been friendly to hip-hop this week, with only two albums cracking the Top 50; T.I.'s Paperwork, which maintained at No. 20, and Azealia Banks' Broke With Expensive Taste, which debuted at No. 30, a solid week considering her surprise release. Since last week, Logic's Under Pressure, and Stalley's Ohio have dropped out of the Top 50. T.I.'s Paperwork drops six spots since last week, grabbing the No. 20 spot with 14,587 units sold. Azealia Banks's Broke With Expensive Taste debuts at No. 30 on the charts with 11,198 units sold.

Outside of the hip-hop world, Taylor Swift's 1989 continues to absolutely kill the charts, after last week's record-setting performance. This week, the album moved over 400,000 units, easily placing her at No. 1 yet again. Teyana Taylor's VII debuts at No. 24 on the charts, selling 13,354 copies for her Def Jam debut. Chris Brown's X continues his streak of charting in the Top 50 this week by placing at No. 49 this week with 7,812 copies sold.
