Troy Ave’s “Amazing Grace” Is a Firsthand Account of the Assassination Attempt on His Life
Troy Ave was shot twice last Christmas (Dec. 25) and lived to tell about it. The Brooklyn rapper decided to share his near-death experience with the world on a new song called "Amazing Grace."
The track does not feature any rapping as Troy delivers a 12-minute monologue about the attempted murder. The BSB Records artist recounts every detail of the life threatening encounter, including the conversation he had with his mother. Troy says that he looked his shooter in the eye before the situation escalated. He also recalls the good fortune he experienced as he made his way to hospital.
The harrowing tale gives listeners a firsthand account of what went down on that fateful day. Troy was shot while sitting in a red Maserati at East 91st Street and Linden Boulevard in Brooklyn’s Canarsie section at around 4:20 p.m. on Dec. 25, 2016. The rapper was on his way to visit his family in Brooklyn.
"Amazing Grace" appears on Troy Ave's new project Dope Boy Troy, which is scheduled to drop on Friday (March 24). A free stream of the mixtape is already available on SoundCloud though, so you can stream it right now for free.
