Nicki Minaj’s “Chun-Li” Wins Best Hip-Hop at 2018 MTV Video Music Awards
Nicki Minaj takes home a W. Earlier tonight (Aug. 20), the superstar artist won the first award of the night when her extravagant video for "Chun-Li" won the trophy for Best Hip-Hop at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards.
In winning the trophy, Nicki bested the likes of Drake ("God's Plan), J. Cole ("ATM"), The Carters ("Apeshit"), Cardi B ("Bartier Cardi" featuring 21 Savage) and Migos (“Walk It Talk It” featuring Drake). Clearly, Nicki is winning big.
Combining her knack for theatrics with her supreme bars and Street Fighter-theme, the video for "Chun-Li" was everything that's great about Nicki Minaj. With that in mind, it's no wonder she took home this trophy.
Other artists winning big at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards include Cardi B (Best New Artist), Post Malone and 21 Savage (Song of the Year, "Rockstar"). Peep all of the night's big winners by reading XXL's ongoing 2018 MTV Video Music Awards winners list.
