Hip-hop is getting its well-deserved time in the spotlight tonight (Aug. 20) at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards.

Ladies run things at this year's ceremony with Cardi B scoring a whopping 10 nominations in categories ranging from Artist of the Year to Best New Artist. The Invasion of Privacy rapper is also kicking off the VMAs with an opening performance or monologue—it's a surprise. The Carters (Jay-Z and Beyoncé) are right behind Bardi with eight nods including Video of the Year for "Apeshit" and Drake pulls up with a solid seven for Best Hip-Hop for "God's Plan," among others.

And that's not all. 2018 XXL Freshman Lil Pump is up against 2016 XXL Freshman Lil Uzi Vert, Cardi B, Bazzi, Hayley Kiyoko and Chloe x Halle for Best New Artist. In the Best Hip-Hop category, Cardi B's "Bartier Cardi" featuring 21 Savage, The Carters' “Apeshit,” Drake's “God's Plan,” J. Cole's “ATM,” Migos' “Walk It Talk It” with Drake and Nicki Minaj's “Chun-Li” are all competing for the big win.

Take a look at all the winners as they're announced at the show, which airs live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City at 9 p.m. and features performances from Travis Scott, Post Malone, Logic and more, below.
