Earlier this year, a Kanye West song topped Billboard's Trending 140 charts. The catch? That song hadn't been released yet. Now, a new draft has hit the net, this time with a psychedelic coda courtesy of GOOD Music signee Travi$ Scott. "All Day" still does not have a release date, and the song still isn't in studio quality--but it's interesting to trace the progression of a song that we initially heard in its embryonic stages.

"All Day" is still vicious and percussive. Almost all of Kanye's lines end with the word "nigga," a move that would--and still might, if the song is officially released--dare radio to acknowledge not only the artist, but his race and politics. But on the new version, rolling snares break down into a narrower, quieter, woozier B-part, with Travi$ Scott on vocals. The effect is a more dynamic song, one that attacks from multiple angles.

Since a rip was leaked online, rap fans have clamored for the full version of "All Day" (other rappers have even given their own interpretation of the track.) But rather than pursuing the hard-edged aesthetic," Kanye's official releases have skewed more populist. His twin Paul McCartney collaborations, the paternal rumination "Only One" and the Rihanna-assisted "FourFiveSeconds" are brighter and decidedly more pop.

There is still no word as to Kanye's still-untitled 7th solo album, and a recent appearance on Ellen suggested that the record is not yet complete. Travi$ Scott's official solo debut, Rodeo, is slated for a March release.
