Kendrick Lamar Seemingly Disses Big Sean in Old Song Snippet
An old song snippet has been circulating on the internet featuring Kendrick Lamar seemingly dissing Big Sean.
In the 11-second excerpt, which surfaced on the web Friday (April 5), K. Dot appears to be sending lyrical shots at the Detroit rhymer. “I think his false confidence got him inspired/I can’t make them respect ya baby it’s not my job / You finally famous for who you date not how your rhyme,” Kendrick raps on the snippet.
Worth noting is the fact that K. Dot uses the phrase "finally famous," which is the name of Sean's three-part Finally Famous mixtape franchise. The phrase isn't really a common one, so it could be viewed as a subliminal diss. Also, Sean Don has dated quite a few high-profile celebrities including actress Naya Rivera, Ariana Grande and Jhené Aiko. It's unclear which, if any, of these women K. Dot could be talking about.
Sean and Kendrick's rumored beef is one that kicked off after they collabed on Sean's 2013 collab, "Control." On the song, K. Dot name-drops Sean and several other rappers as he makes his claim for rap game dominance. The two have never confronted each other publicly, but fans have speculated that this caused some friction between the two.
have collaborated on a few songs together. Both rappers are featured together on DJ Khaled’s 2016 track, "Holy Key, which is one that fans speculated featured subliminal Kendrick disses from Sean.
Fans also theorized that Kendrick dissed Sean on “The Heart Part 4" to which Sean may have responded to Kendrick on “Big Bidness,” which appears on Double or Nothing, his collaborative project with Metro Boomin.
There’s no word on who leaked the audio, but the speculation is that the clip might have been a different version of K. Dot's DAMN. song, “Element.”
