Rising Houston artist Jevon Doe drops his new song "Angels Protecting Me" off his upcoming project My Life Changed, Pt. 1. The track finds the versatile MC rapping about the trials and tribulations that he has experienced in his life.

"People who lie in my face the most, usually the ones that are close to me/Gun to my head and the Reaper close, but I usually got angels protecting me/You must not have too much going on 'cause you ran up on me desperately/Back then I would drop a track and nobody would even check for me," Jevon raps.

Doe had to grow up fast when he was little. His father was addicted to drugs and liquor, but through all the pain he wound up getting a football scholarship to Northwestern State University in Louisiana. Now his focus is on music. The Atlantic Records signee is gearing up to release the "Angels Protecting Me" music video on Aug. 11. There isn't a release date for My Life Changed, Pt. 1 just yet.
