J.I.D Shares ‘DiCaprio 2’ Album Cover and Release Date
J.I.D is quite the generous Scorpio. While ringing in his 28th birthday Wednesday (Oct. 31), the Dreamville rapper decided to give his fans a present, sharing the album artwork and official release date for his forthcoming album, DiCaprio 2.
“DiCaprio 2 - November 26 - My birthday gift to y’all for being patient,” he posted on Twitter, alongside the album art and the devil emoji.
The album artwork features a grainy throwback photo of the beloved actor Leonardo DiCaprio, serving as a literal inspiration behind the project’s name.
Previously, the 2018 XXL Freshman shared the album’s lead single, “151 Rum,” which features production by Christo and Nice Rec. He called the single a short film, even though there wasn’t an accompanying visual released with the song. Perhaps the sharp lyricist is offering a clue as to what else he has in store now that he’s in album mode.
Additionally, last night J.I.D took to the stage to pay homage to his late friend and collaborator, Mac Miller, during the tribute concert Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life. He was joined by artists such as Travis Scott, Chance The Rapper, Ty Dolla $ign, Vince Staples, John Mayer and more.
