J.I.D season is in full effect. Yesterday (Sept. 18), the 2018 XXL Freshman trumpeted the coming of his DiCaprio 2 album with "151 Rum," a new track that acts as the first official single from the project.

On the track, which was produced by Christo and Nice Rec, the East Atlanta rhymer flaunts tight rhyme schemes and the breathless flows that helped make his Freshman freestyle go viral. As is usually the case, he also steals the show with his wordplay and sharp imagery.

J.I.D calls "151 Rum " a short film, but there technically isn't a visual accompaniment for the song. However, his words do their part to paint a portrait of Atlanta and the circumstances of his upbringing.

"Son of a god, son of a bitch/Son of a woman and man, son of a son, and then sunk in abyss/Summon a plant, please come with a strip/Cover my back, cover mad, please come with the bliss/Look at the stash, J.I.D like a magician/Fuck that, this some real ass shit, I paid blood for this/Taking cheese from the government/Cereal boxes, with the bugs in it/Hand me down then my brother brother shit," he raps in a dizzying stanza.

DiCaprio 2 doesn't yet have a release date, but if the rest of his The Never Story follow-up is anything like "151 Rum," it should be fire.
