Happy Birthday, J.I.D!

Today, Oct. 31, marks the birthday of Destin Route, better known as Atlanta rapper J.I.D. The lyricist is now 28 years of age, and he gets to celebrate his birthday and Halloween at the same time.

With an endlessly dexterous flow and nimble rhyme schemes, J.I.D has made a name for himself over the last few years. In 2017, he solidified his buzz by dropping off his debut album, The Never Story, an LP that, with it's combination of hard beats and deft rhymes,  serves as a rap purist's dream.

After earning a spot on the 2018 XXL Freshman roster this earlier year, the Dreamville rapper has continued making waves by promoting his DiCaprio 2 album and dropping off the project's first single, “151 Rum.” While his new LP doesn't have a release date yet, it should be dropping pretty soon. When it does drop, fans can expect some serious bars. After all, hard-hitting lyrics are the rapper's calling card.

“I can really spit, bruh,” the 28-year-old Atlanta rapper told XXL at the 2018 XXL Freshman shoot. “It's a line drawn in the sand; I feel like everybody, notice a change or a shift going on right now.” Word.
