DJ Khaled, Tyler, The Creator, Megan Thee Stallion and More: New Projects This Week
Long-awaited releases from some of hip-hop’s brightest stars are available for your listening pleasure this week.
After more than a decade in the game, DJ Khaled is proving he’s still one of the best. His knack for putting together star-studded collaborations and chart-topping anthems is on display throughout his new album, Father of Asahd. First previewed in 2018 with the singles “No Brainer” featuring Quavo, Chance The Rapper and Justin Bieber, and the Jay-Z, Beyoncé and Future-assisted “Top Off,” Khaled’s 11th studio album has contributions from Cardi B, Lil Baby, Meek Mill, Chris Brown, Travis Scott, the late great Nipsey Hussle and many more.
Following some speculation, it was revealed that Tyler, The Creator's sixth album, Igor, was on the way. Samples of what the Odd Future leader had been cooking up since 2017’s Flower Boy were teased in a series of very Tyler-esque visuals. Igor isn’t the only new Tyler-related project premiering this weekend. The Jellies, the Adult Swim cartoon created by the Grammy-nominated rapper and producer, returns two days after his hotly-anticipated album drops.
Hot girl Megan Thee Stallion is ready to bring the heat. Showing no signs of cooling down, the vixen from Texas delivers Fever. The album, with its blaxploitation-inspired artwork, comes with 14 tracks, and includes the single “Sex Talk,” as well as songs titled “Hood Rat Shit,” “Ratchet” and “Shake That.” Fever’s guest appearances are courtesy of DaBaby and Juicy J, who shows up on “Simon Says.”
