After his most productive year, release wise, in 2017, Buddy is looking to keep the momentum rolling. On Friday (July 20), the Compton, Calif. rapper releases his debut album, Harlan & Alondra.

The rollout for the West Coast rapper's official introduction to the world has contained the singles "Hey Up There" featuring Ty Dolla $ign, "Black" featuring A$AP Ferg and "Trouble on Central." The 12-song LP also features Snoop Dogg, Khalid and Guapdad 4000.

Buddy has been putting in work for a few years under the tutelage of super prouder, Pharrell. He put out his debut mixtape, Idle Time, in 2014. Last year was a big year for the MC who came out with two projects, the Magnolia EP and the Ocean & Montana EP with Kaytranada.

The "Shine" rapper has big plans for his career. “I’m trying to be a legend," he told XXL. "Legendary is someone who died and their death is an event and people still talk about them like a household name. I’m trying to be that. Not just my music but me as a human being. I act and I do a bunch of other stuff too. I’m just trying to be cool and legendary."
