ASAP Rocky Says He Wasn’t Dissing Rita Ora on New Album
A$AP Rocky stopped by Hot 97 to take a moment to explain his lyrics on "Better Times," which include a shot directed at pop singer Rita Ora. On the At.Long.Last.A$AP song, Flacko raps about Rita having a big mouth and hits at them having a fling that wasn't public knowledge. The Harlem MC clarifies that he wasn't dissing Rita Ora but was expressing a situation that happened. He also states that the song is pretty old.
"You gotta realize man, I say what I want," he said. "I'm expressing a situation that happened. I feel bad that people just keep talking about that cause I didn't think people would like that, honestly. I'ma be honest, that's a really old song. I was in a relationship when I made that song. I'm referring to trouble that that girl caused me. I'm being precise when I say she talks a lot. No one in the world knows why I did that, she knows why. I'm not saying she's a terrible person."
Rocky's sophomore LP, At.Long.Last.A$AP, just hit shelves on Tuesday (May 26). On "Better Things," which appears on new album, Rocky raps: "I swear that bitch Rita Ora got a big mouth next time I see her might curse the bitch out/Kicked the bitch out once cause she bitched out/Spit my kids out, jizzed up all in her mouth and made the bitch bounce.”
Could that be why Rocky and Chanel Iman broke up? Throughout the 30-minute long conversation, the A$AP chief also touches on the process behind A.L.L.A, his sound being different from the typical New York sound, meeting singer/songwriter Joe Fox and his rock star lifestyle with the ladies.
