Weeks after the White supremacist march in Charlottesville, Va., it's become evident that rappers won't be sitting on the sidelines as the perceived effects of perceived racism take hold. That's a point A$AP Rocky made when he denounced racism at one of his last shows, framing that denunciation as a staple of A$AP law.

"And I always gotta tell ya'll 'cause I know there's always some new faces. If ya'll fuck with A$AP, if ya'll rock with A$AP, then ya'll gotta live by the same laws and codes," Rocky begins in the video. "Number one, fuck the rules. Number two, fuck racism nigga! I look around this shit, and it's so fucking ethnic in the building, I'm loving this shit. Fuck all that prejudice shit. Fuck all that discrimination. Fuck that shit! Fuck that shit! That's right, that's the shit I like to hear. Remember, it don't matter if you Black, don't matter if you White, don't matter if you brown, don't matter if you  yellow, any shade of color, it doesn't fucking matter, 'cause we're all purple people at heart."

Rocky's comments continue what appears to be a reversal from the opinions he seemingly held in 2015. Back then, he was quoted—perhaps, misquoted—as saying he didn't feel like he should have to stand up for political issues and against racism. He later said he felt awful about those comments, and now, it's obvious he's taking some responsibility by using his platform to spread a message of love and acceptance. And, of course, the virtues of being dope in general.

Rocky's currently riding the momentum of a successful AWGEST that saw his A$AP Team release three new projects, including A$AP Twelvyy's 12, A$AP Ferg's Still Striving and of course, the A$AP Mob collective's Cozy Tapes Vol. 2.
