On Monday Nicki Minaj went on UStream and hinted at a possible Lil Wayne “homecoming concert” in Las Vegas upon his release from New York’s Rikers Island on November 4. XXLmag.com contacted Young Money president Mack Maine to find out if the talks were true.

According to the New Orleans rapper/ businessman, there will not be a full-fledged event, per se, but there may be a chance that Weezy will join Drake onstage at the last leg of his Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour two days later at Vegas’s The Joint.

“That’s Drake’s last day of the tour and that may be a surprise that Wayne’s there,” he told XXLMag.com. “I just don’t wanna spoil the surprise. Like I said we were gonna do an official after party…that could still happen...but the [date] with Drake…I can’t promise that."

Initially, Maine wanted to have a big concert to celebrate Wayne’s freedom in New York, but those plans fell through. “We wanted to do one [homecoming concert] but it was a few difficulties we ran into,” he shared. “I wanted to do something like straight from Rikers to the stage, right there in New York, Madison Square [Garden]or something, some crazy shit, Yankee Stadium or something, [but that’s not gonna happen].”

Tickets for the November 6 Drake concert are already sold out, so fans lucky enough to have already secured their seats may get a glimpse of the rap star's first performance, fingers crossed. —Jesse Gissen with reporting by Rob Markman
