Earlier this week, ILoveMakonnen teased a collab with Rae Sremmurd. Now, he's delivered with a rock-leaning new single, "Love." He's dropped a video for it, too.

The new track finds Makonnen, Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee reflecting on the pain of a failed romance. None of them rap over the Mike WiLL Made-It-produced instrumental—which is fine, since they've all got voices malleable enough to make the track work with their singing voices. Plus, Makonnen and Mike WiLL have extensive history together.

“You turned me into a stoner,” sings Makonnen on the track. “I’m heartless and I don’t need a donor/This is who I am, because of you, I am/Falling down, I’m smoking up/Since you ain’t around, I got my middle fingers up/Fuck love!”

In the visual for the track, Makonnen, who dropped his project Fun Summer 17 a couple of months ago, walks the beach alone like the protagonist in a romance. When he's not doing that, he's turning up with Rae Sremmurd at a night time beach party. Looks like that's their resolution for this whole "Love" thing.

Speaking on the track in an interview with Rap-Up, Makonnen said everything came about naturally because they've known each other for a long time now.

"We’ve known each other for years now, before we had notoriety," Makonnen said at the time. "Mike WiLL was the most successful person we knew. In Atlanta, he introduced us, and he was always working with us. So, we’ve always worked on music together, before 'Tuesday' came out. We’ve been friends before that whole fiasco happened when I went off and went with OVO. This is kind of like coming back home to the home team. It’s just good to see everybody doing their thing. Now, we have a sound that we felt was too new way back then, when we were trying to work on it, but now is the right time to link up. Everybody understands us as artists and they’re more open to hearing us try our artistry. We have a record that’s multigenerational, multicultural, something for everybody, but still true to us."
