Tyler, The Creator, City Girls, Anderson .Paak and More: New Projects This Week
This week sees the release of debuts from acts who grind 24 hours a day, highly anticipated follow-ups to critically acclaimed albums and projects from veterans that are adding to already lengthy catalogs.
Putting on for his city, Anderson .Paak named his latest release after his hometown. Oxnard, the third album from the multi-talented musician—which drops today (Nov. 16)—is said to be the project he’s dreamed of making. OGs like Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, as well as Kendrick Lamar, who appears on the single, "Tints." are featured.
Comprised of Yung Miami and J.T. (#FreeJT), the City Girls bursted on the scene with 2017’s “Fuck Dat Nigga.” After linking up with Quality Control Music and popping up on Drake’s mega-hit “In My Feelings,” the leading ladies are now ready to kick more game with their debut album, Girl Code. With titles like “Broke Boy,” “Swerve” and “Twerk” and collaborations with QC’s most recent success stories—Lil Baby and Cardi B—Girl Code is sure to give fans something to talk about.
Tyler, the Creator, who appears twice on the soundtrack to Universal Picture’s The Grinch, drops his Grinch-inspired EP today. Titled Music Inspired by Illumination & Dr. Seuss' The Grinch, the holiday-themed, six-song project includes “Lights On.”
