2015: The summer of 2015 started off with some major issues for Rick Ross. On the morning of June 24, the Miami rapper and his bodyguard, Nadrian James, were arrested in Fayette County, Ga. and charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

The charges stemmed from allegations made by two men who were doing landscaping at Rozay's Fayetteville mega-mansion, formerly owned by boxing legend Evander Holyfield. According to the complainants, Ross became angered after the men threw a party at the rapper's estate without his consent. The Bawse and James allegedly forced one worker, Jonathan Zamudio, into a guesthouse, where he was assaulted by the two men, with Ross supposedly beating the man over the head with a gun. After spending a week in jail, Rozay posted a $2 million bond, and set a course of fighting the claims.

The MMG head honcho didn't take the charges sitting down. In a legal twist, Ross claimed he acted in self-defense and attempted to get the case thrown out. He also sued his accuser. The tactics didn't work. In March 2016, he was officially indicted.

In April the following year, he pled no contest to misdemeanor charges of aggravated assault, battery, pointing a gun at another person and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. As a result, the felony charges were dropped. The same month, Ross was sentenced to five years on probation and mandated to pay a $10,000 fine, avoiding jail time.
