Officials in Australia have granted Snoop Dog a visa to visit the country after reviewing his recent personal conduct and receiving a letter in support of the rapper from actor Russell Crowe.

Snoop's visa application was originally under review because of his criminal record.

The Immigration Department of the country, however, took into account the rapper's charity work and decided today to let the rapper have a temporary visa.

The rapper has visited the country previously, but after an arrest last year for marijuana possession and a gun charge Snoop withdrew an already pending visa application.

According to AFP, the then head of immigration in Australia said of Snoop: "He doesn't seem the sort of bloke we want in this country."
