Snoop Dogg is taking his talents to the stage in a different way. In a tweet posted to the rap veteran's Twitter account today (Aug. 9), he shared that his newest endeavor is a live play called Redemption of a Dogg featuring famed singer Tamar Braxton.

"I partnered up wit my guy @jecaryous to bring you REDEMPTION OF A DOGG, the live play," Snoop tweeted. "We goin on tour joined by the wonderful @tamarbraxton. We hittin a city near you this fall ! Tickets on sale tomorrow dont miss out !"

The play is reportedly written, directed and produced by revered playwright Je’Caryous Johnson, and centers around a figure that appears to be based on Snoop himself. The play follows the internal battle one man has between preserving his life-long legacy and losing the love of his life when he is faced with choosing fame and fortune over faith and family.

Snoop's most recent gospel album, Bible of Love, as well as some of his greatest hits will reportedly serve as the play's soundtrack.

The show is set to debut at the Hobby Center in Houston, Texas on Oct. 5, and make several stops nationwide over the course of a month before wrapping up on Nov. 11 in Washington, D.C.

It's been a busy few months for Snoop, who was recently featured only Wiz Khalifa's highly anticipated new album, Rolling Papers 2, and spoke on the importance of the g-funk genre in a new documentary G-Funk. To see Snoop flex his acting chops, by your tickets here.
