Snoop Dogg Keeps Astronaut’s “Buzz” Going With New Rap Song

With hopes of having senior-citizen rap on lock, original moonwalker Buzz Aldrin - second only to Neil Armstrong in accomplishing the lunar feat - enlisted the help of Snoop Dogg for the single “Rocket Experience,” released yesterday (June 22).

“I want kids interested in space,” Aldrin explained to USA Today about why he decided to try his hand at rhyming. “It’s their future.” Proceeds from the track's sales will go to the 79-year-old former astronaut's ShareSpace Foundation. “[Aldrin] pushes kids to achieve their dreams,” Snoop added.

In a comical making-of video for the track on Will Ferrell’s website, funnyordie.com, Snoop dishes on Buzz’s game-changing potential. “Buzz has got the biggest buzz on the streets right now," he said. “He's got Talib Kweli and [me] in the studio with him, and I only work with the best."

Kweli and Soulja Boy also appear in the clip, gushing over the collabo. “To tell [our kids] we hung with Buzz gets your inner geek fired up," Kwe joked. [Watch below] The video's most notable cameo, however, is soul legend Quincy Jones, who talks up Aldrin’s “great groove.”
