Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Skylar Grey sat down with Billboard to speak about her collaboration with Nicki Minaj latest record "Bed of Lies," which was debuted at MTV's European Music Awards this past Sunday.

When asked about her response when she first heard Nicki's verses on the song, Grey replied: "When I heard that she was taking the song I was surprised because it’s not a typical kind of song for her. I was very excited when I heard what she did with it. She seemed to take it to a very personal place." Grey confirmed that she is in fact, officially on the "Bed Of Lies" single, saying that she wrote the song "almost a year ago" before Nicki wrote her verses on it, and that Nicki liked her demo of the song enough to keep her on the song.

When asked if anything about Nicki surprised her, Grey replied: "I didn’t really have any surprises. To be where she’s at and do what she does, you have to be a really strong person and I kind of saw that. I hadn’t met her until the rehearsal and during the rehearsal I saw she is a very strong person who has a true vision for herself and I really admire her for that."
