
Nicki Minaj Joins the Cast of ‘Barbershop 3′
Nicki Minaj will be joining the cast of the upcoming film, Barbershop 3. According to Variety, the Queen of Barbz will play Draya, a sassy new addition to the barbershop crew. Nicki made her live-action, big screen debut last year as Lydia, assistant to Camren Diaz's character in The Other Woman. Her feature film debut came in 2012's Ice Age: Continental Drift, when she played the voice of Steffie.
Barbershop had us cracking up back in 2002 when the first film dropped. Ice Cube and Anthony Anderson reprised their lead roles in the film's sequel in 2004 and are back for the third one. Part three is underway over ten years later and from the looks of things it will be another hilarious ride. Minaj will also be joined by Eve, Regina Hall, Queen Latifah and Common. The film is written by Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver and directed by Malcolm D. Lee. Bob Teitel and George Tillman Jr. take over as lead producers on the forthcoming movie.
Barbershop 3 will hit theaters Feb. 19, 2016, according to EW.
Nicki released her behind-the-scene documentary about The Pinkprint tour exclusively on Tidal. In the eight-minute clip, Minaj kets fans get a peek of just how crazy tour life is plus a glimpse of her and boyfriend Meek Mill hanging out together. Watch part one of the video here.
