Chief Keef, Kyle, Lil Mosey and More: Bangers This Week
It might be December, but we still have a few big weeks left for hip-hop before 2019 arrives. This latest gathering of new rap goes to show you that the genre never stops, no matter how close we are to Santa Claus and Christmas cheer. Check out the latest and greatest from all of your favorite artists below.
Kyle and Lil Yachty have plenty in common; one of those things being that they were both XXL Freshmen. They also share a previous hit together, 2017's "iSpy." This year, the two friends team up again for "Hey Julie," another catchy single. The song itself hits the notes that helped both of their careers take off in prior years. It's fun, youthful energy with unforgettable hooks.
Christmas is a time of joy for many people. Lil Mosey enjoys it just as much as anyone else, but this year, he got a special gift. "K for Christmas" consists of Mosey describing his ideal holiday, including girls, liquor and money. The song works because of Mosey's style and voice. We need more Christmas rap songs.
Chief Keef will always have a space in hip-hop; he knows how to feed his fans and he isn't afraid to experiment. His new song, "Awesome," is a little different from his usual sound, but its catchy. The beat, which sounds like a series of video game sounds, has a frenetic pace, but Keef still manages to keep up.
