Original Story: Prepare the hype machine because Kendrick Lamar may have some new music on the way. Spotify has listed a new project from the Compton rapper simply titled Untitled Unmastered. It is not available for streaming yet and has no titles for the eight tracks listed, but it appears this release is official as producers Cardo and Frank Dukes have made posts on Instagram hyping up the project.
Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony Tiffith said that a new album from the TDE would be released this week. Many speculated that this would be an album from Schoolboy Q or Ab-Soul, but no one expected it to be a Kendrick Lamar project. It looks like the folks at TDE may have pulled off a major surprise though.
It appears that these tracks may be the untitled creations that Kendrick Lamar has played during appearances on talk shows like The Colbert Report and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Basketball star LeBron James even pleaded with Anthony Tiffith for Kendrick to release these songs. It looks like he may get his wish.
As for the rest of the TDE lineup, their respective projects were recently teased in an Instagram post by the aforementioned Tiffith. Schoolboy Q’s album is in the midst of sample clearance while Ab-Soul’s is being mixed. SZA’s LP is listed as being in the fourth stage creative. Isaiah Rashad's album is in a similar state as his project is labeled as being in the third stage creative.
