The Game Sets the Record Straight on Beef With Kendrick Lamar and His Friendship With Drake on New Album The Documentary III
The Game sets the record straight on beef with Kendrick Lamar and his friendship with Drake on the new album The Documentary III.
On Friday (Aug. 21), Game completed the trilogy in his documentary album series with a surprise new album, which includes the single "No Breaks" with Drake. On the new LP, Chuck addresses a number of topics, including the speculation that he has beef with Kendrick Lamar.
"Like Dr. Dre on the beat, yeah I’m back with that sound/They say I’m beefing with Kendrick, how the f**k do that sound?" Game raps on "The Pen."
"I ain't got problem with the Boogeyman and he ain't got a problem with me, ’cause I'm the LA Monster," Game adds on the song, "LA Monster," again appearing to address rumored static with K-Dot.
Game also talks about his relationship with Drake via their aforementioned collab.
"Take off on a ni**a like a Migo/And my diamonds offset like a Migo/And I'm sippin' Cuervo like a Migo/Me, Drake and a Drac', ni**a, we the Three Amigos/Champagne shootin' like it's B-roll," the Compton, Calif., MC spits.
Game and Kendrick have never had serious public issues. However, people have speculated that Game's allegiance with Drake and past comments about being the best rapper from Compton mean there is tension with Kendrick.
On the new album, Game also touches on feeling underappreciated despite having "four classic albums," some of Ye's wild rant comments and more.
The Cali veteran's new album is stacked with guest appearances from Drizzy, Snoop Dogg, Ye, PartyNextDoor, E-40, YG, Larry June, Black Thought, Lefty Gunplay, Leon Thomas and more.
