Offset is a free man. The Migos member appeared in court today (Dec. 4) looking to be released on bail and finally got his wish. This ends a long escapade for Offset, who was previously denied bail three times. Offset had been in jail since April after he and his fellow Migos members Quavo and Takeoff were arrested when authorities discovered drugs and guns in their car. The group was performing at Georgia Southern University's spring concert before their arrest.

The trio was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession, felony possession of a schedule II narcotic and carrying a loaded gun on school property. Offset received an additional charge of gun possession by a convicted felon. Quavo and Takeoff were released, but Offset remained in jail as he was denied bond.

Offset's battle got tougher when prosecutors said he should remain imprisoned because he started a jailhouse riot this past summer. Offset's defense argued that the footage of this incident showed no clear image of him, according to TMZ. They also looked to poke holes in the notion that a riot only lasted 20 seconds.

Offset's lawyer Drew Findling spoke to The Fader and said that Offset will serve five years of probation as part of an Alford plea deal. The state may limit the sentence to two years with good behavior.

"He was put in a position where he felt like his arm was held behind his back, he wanted to support his children. He made a decison that it was time to choose freedom," Findling told The Fader.

Migos announced Offset's return on their official Twitter account. Close affiliate Rich The Kid had been tweeting throughout the day about the hearing and was one of the first to reveal that Offset would be freed. He shared a picture and video of Offset's return to the free world, which you can see below.
