Migos Celebrate ‘Culture II’ Album Surpassing 1 Billion Streams
Migos are on a roll. The Atlanta trio's Culture II album currently sits at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 200 and recently passed 1 billion streams in less than a month out.
The group celebrated their achievement during an intimate get-together on Friday (Feb. 16). Quality Control exec, Coach K, documented the special date on Instagram. "1Billion Streams in 20 Days is just the beginning," Coach captioned a photo of the group posing together with plaques that signify their accomplishment. "@Migos keep breaking barriers & records. I’m starting to smile more in pictures. @qualitycontrolmusic Is the new Major. #qcthecultureslabel🏆 #solidfoundationmgmt⚒."
In video of the celebration that has surfaced on the internet, the group flex with their plaques for the camera and constantly note the achievement took less than three weeks.
Culture II, spearheaded by the singles "MotorSport" featuring Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, "Supastars" and "Stir Fry," initially landed at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200, following its first week out. The album moved 199,000 equivalent album units, with most of that total being derived from streams. The Atlanta rap trio sold 150,000 streaming equivalent units or 225.6 million audio streams during the album's first week. An additional 38,000 units were sold through traditional album sales, while another 11,000 of the units came from track equivalent units.
It has since slipped one spot on the charts, giving up its rank to Justin Timberlake's new album, Man of the Woods.
