Michael Jackson's Nephew Disagrees With Drake Using Vocals

Drake's new 25-song double album, Scorpion, finally hit the streets on Friday (June 29), officially launching Drizzy SZN. With only four features on the album, Aubrey wanted to make them memorable. And that he did. On top of tapping Jay-Z and Ty Dolla $ign, he got vocals from two late singers in Michael Jackson and Static Major. But it looks like not everyone is happy with Drake's decision to add unreleased material from the King of Pop on the new LP.

Jackson's nephew, Austin Brown, the son of the "Thriller" singer's sister, Rebbie, was recently questioned about the move, and revealed he doesn't agree with the choice. Brown was interviewed by TMZ, in Hollywood, Calif. on Friday, and he was far from ecstatic to hear his uncle on Scorpion.

When asked if the Jackson family was OK with Drake using the vocals, Brown responded, "I mean, I'm not OK with it."

He added, "I feel like, if he didn't finish it, you shouldn't use it. [I] respect the artist, I just don't feel like it's OK to use someone's vocals and [undecipherable] change them. It's music at the end of the day. It's art."

According to reports, Drake may have obtained the vocals from Canadian singer-songwriter, Paul Anka, who recorded unreleased sessions with Jackson in the early 1980s and is credited as a co-writer on the Drake and MJ collab.
