Krept Stabbed in Knife Brawl Backstage at Show: Report
British rapper Krept of the grime duo Krept and Konan has reportedly been stabbed backstage during a show in Birmingham, England.
The incident occurred during the BBC Radio 1Xtra Live show on Saturday night (Oct. 5), when a knife brawl broke out backstage and Krept was slashed during the melee, reports DailyMail. The stabbing was not too serious and the 7 Days rapper was treated on site and did not require hospital treatment, according the Mirror.
The incident caused the show, which featured a line-up of Aitch, French Montana, Jaykae, Lil Tecca, Ms Banks and Popcaan, to be shut down prematurely. No arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing but a 23-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife, which was unrelated.
Social media has been abuzz about Krept possibly being injured badly.
"Big up Krept. I hope he fully recovers," DJ Semtex posted on Twitter. "But how the fuck are you going to hurt one of the most positive artists? He’s been putting people on, giving back to his community, and the culture. There is no excuse for this fuckery. UK we have to do better."
Krept, born Casyo Johnson, has since commented on the situation on social media and let fans know he is okay. "My people thanks for the messages Im good, ill be back in no time," he tweeted. "God was with me trust me. Cant keep a good man down."
1Xtra released the following statement on the incident: "We’re sorry to everyone who attended 1Xtra Live in Birmingham for the early finish, however the health and safety of everyone involved is always our top priority. We are upset and saddened that something like this should happen to a guest at one of our events and we remain in close contact and continue to offer our full support.”
