Kendrick Lamar Wins Lyricist of the Year at 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards
Kendrick Lamar has won the Lyricist of the Year award at the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards. He beat out Chance The Rapper, Drake, J. Cole and Kanye for the win.
Earlier this year, K. Dot dropped his untitled unmastered project, starting a strong year for Top Dawg Ent that continued with albums from Schoolboy Q (Blank Face) and Isaiah Rashad (The Sun's Tirade).
There might be some turmoil in the TDE camp as of recent. Over the weekend, SZA tweeted, "I actually quit. @iamstillpunch can release my album if he ever feels like it. Y’all be blessed.” Punch, the CEO of the label, tweeted "lol" soon after with a picture of the joker.
All signs point to this being a joke, as the crew has been known to play pranks on fans online. But SZA has since deleted the tweet, and it could very well be serious.
