BJ The Chicago Kid has a new vision for the god of love. The music video for his Kendrick Lamar collaboration "The New Cupid" finds Cupid quitting the gig. This new version of Cupid is more intent on wrecking relationships than helping initiate love connections. BJ pulls out all the stops for the video too as he gets comedian Hannibal Buress in the staring role along with cameos by Iamsu! and Mila J.

"Working on this video was a dream come true, from Hannibal agreeing to play the new Cupid, to Raphael [Saadiq] providing the music, Iamsu! lending us his acting skills and Mila J stopping through to lend us her smile and beauty," BJ told Rolling Stone. "I have to say I have a great group of friends. Even Kendrick [Lamar] paused everything he had going around the Grammys to make sure we had what we needed."

Hannibal Buress also spoke to Rolling Stone about his role in the video. The hilarious comic detailed some of his compensation for helping BJ The Chicago Kid out.

"BJ was telling how the video was missing one piece," Buress said. "It was me. I came into the picture and made this project whole. The cherry on top. The final stroke of the paintbrush on a masterpiece. A lot of people have been asking about my compensation for this project. BJ paid me in a lifetime subscription to Tidal and three ghostwritten 13-bar verses about any subject matter of my choosing."

"The New Cupid" appears on BJ The Chicago Kid's new album, In My Mind, which is in stores now.
