The month of May gave us some fantastic albums like DJ Khaled’s sprawling LP Father of Asahd, Tyler The Creator’s first No. 1 Billboard 200 album with IGOR and Megan Thee Stallion’s sexually-empowering project, Fever. Now that summer is approaching, artists are ready to bring the heat with their mid-year albums in June.

Tee Grizzley will be dropping his highly-anticipated second studio album, Scriptures, on June 7. The Detroit rapper’s collection boasts production assists from veteran hitmaker Timbaland. In an April 18 interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio, Grizzley described how he met Timbo in a studio session with Kanye West. The project came together per a suggestion from 'Ye, after both he and Timbaland were impressed with the music Grizzley played for them.

"Real recognize real," Timbaland said through FaceTime during the interview. "Tee’s talent speaks for itself and it just draws me and everything we was doing just came out naturally the right way."

Tee's Timbo-produced project is far from being the only new heat dropping this month. Chicago rapper Polo G is all set to deliver his debut LP, Die a Legend. The 20-year-old rapper has gained momentum following the success of his 2018 song "Finer Things," and continued growing with hits like the Lil Tjay-assisted "Pop Out" in 2019. Earlier this year, Polo G told XXL what fans can expect from his new music.

“I got a message to convey to the world," the Chicago native said. "I have much more listeners that can tap in and get connected with me. I’m versatile with my sound. I can switch it up a lot. I can produce a rock record; if you want me to produce a street record, I can do that as well. It’s like whatever lane I’m put into, I’m going to flourish.”

Elsewhere in the month, Chris Brown is set to release his ninth studio album, Indigo, on June 21. The LP features guest appearances from Drake, Lil Wayne, Gunna, Juicy J, Nicki Minaj, Joyner Lucas, G-Eazy and more. Meanwhile, on June 28, Mustard will drop his project, Perfect Ten, which looks like it will be a scorching album for the summer.
