Before the 2019 XXL Freshman Class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting will launch on March 25, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover.

While it might seem like Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion took off overnight, she's been hard at work for years. Learning the ins and outs of hip-hop through her mother (who rapped under the moniker Holly Wood), the young girl decided to pursue rap on her own. After her standout verse in a local cypher video blew up, Megan, 24, took off running. Her 2016 project Rich Ratchet was her start, followed by 2017's Make It Hot. 2018's Tina Snow was what really got her on the map, fully displaying her rap talent. She signed to 300 Entertainment in November, becoming the first female artist to sign to the imprint.

With plenty of flows and lyrics that are a perfect mix of bravado, motivation and sex, Megan's buzz has been steadily rising into 2019. With her mixtape, Fever, on the way and the video for her Tina Snow single "Big Ole Freak" inching towards 3 million views in under a month, Megan's name has never been bigger.

Now that you've heard her pitch, remember to vote for your favorite artist beginning March 25. The 2019 XXL Freshman 10th Spot will run for one week. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into the XXL Freshman Class. Go here to make your vote count for your favorite artist.
