Hip-Hop Reacts to Former New England Patriots Player Aaron Hernandez’s Death
Earlier this morning (April 19), news broke that former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez was reportedly found dead in his prison cell. According to ESPN, Massachusetts prison officials say the former NFL superstar was found hanging from a bed sheet in his single cell at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley. The athlete was serving a life sentence after being found guilty for shooting and killing Odin Lloyd back in 2013.
An hour after being found hanging in his cell from a bed sheet attached to his window sill this morning, Hernandez was transferred to UMass Memorial-HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster, where he was pronounced dead around 3 a.m. The news of his death also comes after he was just acquitted for double murder charges for the 2012 killings of Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu. Reports also say authorities do not believe he left any suicide note, nor was there any previous concern that the former Patriots player would harm himself.
There is already a lot of controversy around the alleged suicide, with fans, celebrities, and even loved ones of the athlete coming forward to express their skepticism over his death. Familiar names such as The Game, Kamaiyah, Snoop Dogg and more are currently sharing their candid thoughts over his death on social media, with many believing that he didn't take his own life. Both Hernandez's former agent and lawyer believe something else was at play.
