Gotti Kin Blasts Rick Ross for Using “Teflon Don” Moniker

Yesterday (July 20) Rick Ross released his fourth studio album, Teflon Don. Now, the grandson of the original Teflon Don, John Gotti, is charging the Miami rap boss with "disrespect."

In an interview with New York's Daily News Carmine Agnello, the grandson of the former Gambino crime boss, feels that Rozay should have asked the Gotti family for permission to use the moniker. “A standup, respectable guy would come and ask 'If I could use the nickname,''" he said. "You can't just start calling yourself that to sell records."

"Only in America can you go from being a corrections officer to calling yourself Teflon Don,” he added.

John Gotti rose through the ranks of organized crime in the 1970s and 1980s before being sentenced to life in prison in 1992. He died in 2002 from throat cancer.

Ross’ Teflon Don, which hit stores yesterday, features Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake, Cee-Lo, T.I., Jadakiss, Styles P and more. —Adam Fleischer
