The devastation in Puerto Rico is overwhelming, and leaders, politicians, and celebrities are doing everything they can to try and send help and supplies to the country in their time of crisis. Fat Joe has been very vocal about his heartbreak over the country's condition, and has been working closely with JAY-Z's Tidal to gather supplies, adding up to 2 million pounds worth.

While speaking with CNN about his response to the hurricane crisis, the Bronx native delivers an emotional message about the country, criticizing how long it took for help to reach Puerto Rico while residents have been suffering the damages for over a week.

"We feel stranded," Joe states. "As U.S. citizens, Puerto Rico has paid their part. I have two little cousins that's in the army right now, willing to give their life for this country. And the fact that it took so long to get any help out there, that's what I mean. So we had to mobilize and power ourselves to collect canned foods and waters and women's hygienes and toothpastes to give back to our own community, and that we did."

Joey also opens up about surpassing his goal to fill up one plane with 200,000 pounds of supplies, as they are now at a total of 2 million pounds that they will be sending to both Puerto Rico, as well as Mexico, which suffered severe damages from an earthquake last month.

"We set out a goal with JAY-Z and Tidal to fill up one plane with 200,000 pounds, and actually we filled up five planes, and we gotta fill up another five more," he explains. "We're at 2 million pounds that the city of New York has collected."

Tidal is throwing their annual 2017 Tidal X concert on Oct. 17, which will include Fat Joe, as well as Hov, Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, DJ Khaled and more. The concert will raise proceeds for natural disaster relief and recovery organizations.
