Fat Joe Says He’d Die Before Taking a Picture With 6ix9ine
In 2018, Fat Joe warned 6ix9ine on his Tidal podcast that if he didn’t clean up his act that he could be looking at prison. Fast forward to 2019 and the rap veteran is now distancing himself from the jailed rapper, who was put behind bars after being indicted on federal racketeering charges in November 2018.
Speaking on Power 105.1's The Angie Martinez Show on Wednesday (March 13), the Bronx rapper said he had to dissociate himself from 6ix9ine for cooperating with the feds in his racketeering case.
“I thought he was a nice guy, and now he can’t be my friend, he can’t come around me ever again,” said Joe. “Those are rules. He crossed that line. I'm keeping it a buck, I pray for people who cross that line — when they talk to the police and they snitch, I pray for them."
"Yo, we can't be cool, you over there...please stay away from me," he continued. “I’d die before you see me in the picture with Tekashi 6ix9ine.”
Fat Joe shares the same sentiments as other rappers who believe that 6ix9ine crossed the line by talking to the feds. Last month, Snoop Dogg seemingly called out 6ix9ine for his cooperation with federal authorities, and he used an Instagram video to do so. Meanwhile, Offset believes the embattled rapper's well-being is in jeopardy after he told authorities about his associates' criminal exploits.
"You choose the streets and you go left on the streets, your safety is a problem now because you chose the streets," Offset said while speaking to 92.3 radio personality Big Boy on March 4. "Just know what you're doing."
