NFL Player Calls Jay-Z Despicable for Alleged Team Ownership Plan

Jay-Z has seemingly opened a can of worms with his partnership with the NFL and recent announcement that he will become a team co-owner. Current NFL player and Colin Kaepernick ally Eric Reid doesn't think too highly of Hov's power moves and recently called the rap mogul despicable for his business maneuvers with the league.

On Friday (Aug. 16), Reid was asked during a locker room interview about his thoughts on Jigga's alignment with the NFL after he was one of the rapper's who supported Colin's kneeling protests, which caused him to be a League pariah and seemingly ultimately costs the quarterback future chances in the NFL.

“Jay-Z claimed to be a supporter of Colin, wore his jersey, told people not to perform at the Super Bowl because of the treatment the NFL did to Colin," Reid said. "And now he’s going to be a part owner ... It’s kind of despicable."

When asked his thoughts on Jay being called a sell-out, Reid answered, "It's approaching that. If Jay-Z is going to become an owner, is Colin going to be signed the day he becomes an owner of a team? We’ll see."

Jay-Z recently said in a meeting with NFL execs he would like to move past kneeling and wants to take action. That comment also didn't sit too well with Reid.

“When has Jay-Z ever taken a knee to tell us we’re past kneeling?" Reid questioned. "Yes, he’s done a lot of great work, great social justice work. But for you to get paid to go into an NFL press conference and say you’re past kneeling? It’s asinine.”

Reid isn't the only one calling out Hov for aligning with the NFL. Colin Kaepernick's girlfriend Nessa thinks Jay helped bury the former QB.
