Drake’s Summer Sixteen Tour Earns Title of Highest Grossing in Hip-Hop History
New year, more records being shattered by Drake.
Drizzy and Future's Summer Sixteen Tour was an event for the ages, with both rappers touring the country at the height of their buzz last year. The tour has now earned the title as the highest grossing rap tour off all time, according to Poll Star Pro.
Drake and Hendrix spent three months in 2016 touring the country and performing to sold out crowds. The two rap stars performed 54 shows between July and October, bringing in a reported $85 million in sales. The tour ended on a bit of a sour note however, with Drake’s ankle injury causing the cancellation of the last few shows, which means the total could have been even more.

The 6 God is currently prepping his Boy Meets World Tour, which is starting up in a couple weeks in Amsterdam. Drake's year was full of record-breaking wins, which included shattering multiple Billboard, Spotify and steaming records. At one point, he had 20 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
As if he didn't have enough Ws on the music side of things, he was also named British GQ's Best Dressed Man of 2016.
