The Los Angeles Attorney’s Office filed two misdemeanor charges against Brown earlier today in connection with a minor traffic crash.

Brown allegedly was driving a car that rear-ended a Mercedes in Los Angeles in May. Several reports say Brown refused to give his driver’s license number and he gave fake information for his insurance. He also fled the scene.

Frank Mateljan, who is a spokesman for the city attorney, filed charges of hit-and-run and driving without a license. Each of the charges carries a penalty of six months in jail.

Brown is in jeopardy of violating his probation stemming from his Rihanna case. If he broke the law, Brown could face up to four years in prison.

Since the report surfaced online, Brown has taken to his Twitter account to express his opinion on the charges.
