There's no question that Cardi B has tons of supporters, but she now has an unexpected one with Bernie Sanders. After reading a quote from the "Bodak Yellow" rapper regarding her thoughts on President Franklin D. Roosevelt's impact on social security, the popular Senator expressed his support for her statements.

If you recall, Cardi first discussed FDR's presidency during her discussion with GQ Magazine, remarking on him signing the Social Security Act into law in the Second New Deal. She says that the former president was trying to "make America great again for real" by helping old people to receive social security.

"First of all, he helped us get over the Depression, all while he was in a wheelchair," she explained. "Like, this man was suffering from polio at the time of his presidency, and yet all he was worried about was trying to make America great—make America great again for real. He's the real 'Make America Great Again,' because if it wasn't for him, old people wouldn't even get Social Security."

Earlier today (April 18), Sanders tweeted a response to Cardi's quote, agreeing that America needs to strengthen social security in order to help seniors "retire with the dignity they deserve."

"Cardi B is right," he writes. "If we are really going to make America great we need to strengthen Social Security so that seniors are able to retire with the dignity they deserve."

Whether it's through her music or her knowledge of history and America's presidents, Cardi is gaining even more supporters to join Team Bardi each day.
