Another day, another inventive new song and visual from Brockhampton. Now, the California-based rap collective pulls-up with "Swamp," a mesmerizingly eclectic song with an eccentric video to match. Check it out below.

The new Kevin Abstract-directed visual—which Abstract revealed was inspired by Spike Jonze, 1990s-era Nickelodeon and The Chronicle—finds Abstract, Ameer Vann, Dom McLennon, Joba, Merlyn Wood and Matt Champion bouncing around a variety of settings seemingly within the Los Angeles neighborhood they shot "Heat" in a few months ago. In some clips, we see a few of them posted up in a whip with a guy with mud plastered across his face. In others, we see Dom and Abstract at different points hanging out near four-foot Coca-Cola bottles. In another, we see Wood flying through the air like a superhero. Abstract and a few others also rock some police uniforms for an unspecified reason.

Needless to say, there's a lot going on in the video, and that's something that can be said for pretty much everything Brockhampton's ever put out. The thing is, they're now able to weave everything together seamlessly.

The beat for "Swamp" sounds almost like a more detailed version of the soundtrack of a Game Boy Advance game, and the chorus sounds like Abstract's version of something the late Pimp C and Bun B would've put out back in 2000. Brockhampton manages to mold these elements together with verses about insecurity, self-discovery, growing up and dream-chasing without missing a beat, and that in a nutshell is what makes the group so dope.

"Never would've have met my friends if not for satellites/Yeah I'll cuff her even if she do not suck me right/Always planned to be a rapper when I failed at life/Luckily professor failed me at the proper time," Wood spits in his verse, which comes directly after Vann's verse about growing up in the trap.
