Blueface Doesn’t Think Shiggy Should Be a Rapper: “They Not Gonna Take You Serious”
Social media comedian Shiggy is trying to expand his brand and become a rap star. 2019 XXL Freshman Blueface doesn't think that is a smart move.
Blue recently ran into Shiggy and shared video of their interaction on Instagram on Saturday (Dec. 14). In the clip, he advised Shiggy against getting in the rap game.
"Listen, if you a comedian, and you try to jump in the rap lane, it's not gonna work out the way you think it's gonna work out," Blueface tells his followers and Shiggy who is standing nearby. "Just cause you got 4 million followers, 5 million followers, them people follow you 'cause you a comedian. So, once you try to rap they are not going to take you serious."
Blue's speech got mixed reviews online. Comedian turnt sanga Lil Duval reacted to the video by posting the numbers for his song "Smile (Livin' My Best Life)," which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart back in October.
"#jokesonyoublu #nowcityboywitit," Duval captioned the post.
Blueface offered a retort in the comments. "Duval that song you made was a comedic song everybody got a kick out of it an that’s y it went viral you did it the way I was tryna tell shiggy you ain’t make no hardcore gangster song or no trap song," he posted.
Shiggy, who helped popularize Drake's 2018 track "In My Feelings" by sparking the "In My Feelings" Challenge, has smartly used the publicity to help plug his budding musical career. On Sunday (Dec. 15), he uploaded his latest single "Ca$h App My Money" featuring Jay Blakk and Mardope on IG along with the caption, "Tell @bluefacebleedem We Got A Hit Man 💯💯💯 Go On TikTok And Make Your Videos And I’ll Bless You @cashapp #cashapppartner."
