The Big Tymers performed in their native New Orleans during All-Star Weekend on Sat., Feb. 18. After the show, Birdman told Billboard that Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V will release this year.
"You will get it this year," the Cash Money CEO said backstage. "Me and Wayne will be aight. I’ma make that work. That’s my son and I love him, and we’ll make it happen."
Baby's statement mirrors the one he made in early January on Travis Scott's Beats 1 radio show. “It’s definitely coming out,” Birdman said about C5 on Beats 1. “The situation with me and my son, I’m going to put it all behind us and just let it move forward."
During the interview with Billboard, Birdman also talked about his once-fractured relationship with Mannie Fresh. "Me and Fresh been through a lot together," Baby said. "Our relationship bonded even stronger when his sister got killed and my sister got killed. Fresh put the Big Tymers tour together. I always had a brotherly relationship with Fresh and I’mma continue to have that."
Mannie Fresh added in a separate interview, "We had our disagreements on shit but real talk, New Orleans cats are like this—when something happens, we come together."
