Detroit rapper BandGang Lonnie Bands braves the winter cold in his new video for "Mic Check," released this week (March 14). In the lo-fi visual shot and produced by DODBH, the upstart smokes his blunts in the snow, counts his dead Presidents and makes sure to call out the fake, stuck up rappers on their pretending.

"People taking gold and they taking souls/Go against the family, you don't wanna take that road/Just let me put you on, nigga come and take this load/You goin' take this percentage or you goin' be a statistic/I ain't being ignant nigga, I'm just being realistic," raps Lonnie.

For those unfamiliar, Lonnie Bands is a member of the Detroit-hailing BandGang crew. The Motor City is having something of a Renaissance right now thanks to acts like BandGang, Tee Grizzley, Icewear Vezzo, Eastside Peezy, Pablo Skywalkin, Molly Brazy and more. The hometown of Eminem, Big Sean and Danny Brown is seeing fresh new talent gain national recognition once again. Tee Grizzley's new song "First Day Out," which features BandGang is quickly gaining steam and being pegged as a city anthem.
